Saskatoon Cycles February 2022 Newsletter
February is shaping up to be an incredibly busy and exciting month for winter cycling promotion and activities. We hope to inspire some new riders to give winter cycling a try, and give experienced ones a good excuse to go out for a spin.
Check out the events we’re working on and see if we can’t tempt you to get outside and embrace the cold!

#BYXE Week
We’ve teamed up with the City of Saskatoon to encourage more people to explore the city by bike during the week of February 14-21. Just by registering and committing to ride any time during the week you’ll be entered for some great prizes. We have other activities on the go, and the more you participate, the more additional entries you can accumulate.

Ice Cycle
The name says it all, really: a bicycle ride when it’s icy outside. It’s on Saturday, February 26 at 2pm.
As part of the City of Saskatoon’s Wintercity YXE strategy, and running during the Nutrien WinterShines festival, our Ice Cycle hopes to get you out for a delightful trail ride and a sip or two of hot chocolate.

Bikes and Banter
Every Saturday afternoon, from 2PM to 4PM, we cycle (bike) to an outdoor gathering point to talk (banter) about whatever is on our minds. It’s a chance to get some fresh air and maybe some fresh perspectives on the world in the company of others.
For the past few months, we’ve been meeting at the Shakespeare on the Saskatchewan festival site, but you’ll only know for certain where we’re meeting next by following us on social media. If you haven’t already, pick your favourite platform (Facebook, Instagram or Twitter) and get the inside scoop!
New Sign!
Our events should be a little easier to spot from now on, thanks to some eye-catching design work by board member Gord and our friends at Pirate Signs. Look for our sign; it’ll be staked near something fun!
Donations
Finally, just a reminder that a significant portion of our budget comes from the generosity of our members. We need your financial support to press for changes in how cycling is integrated into the transportation activities and planning in Saskatoon. Whether you can give BitCoin or loose change and couch money, your contributions help us keep working to make cycling a year-round mode of transportation that is safe, convenient and comfortable for all ages.
