Supporting the Cycling Guide’s Development
We need to raise $7,500 to bring Cycling Guide to Saskatoon and keep it running through the first year.
Here’s What Cycling Guide Does Differently
- Colour-Coded Stress Levels
Every segment of every route is marked: green for calm paths or roads, yellow for busier streets, red for “you might want to avoid this.” You choose your comfort level. - Local Knowledge, Not Corporate Guesswork
Cycling Guide uses OpenStreetMap data maintained by locals who actually know which streets are calm, which have bike lanes, and which shortcuts exist. The app is updated regularly by Saskatoon volunteers to reflect real conditions in Saskatoon. - Always Free, Always Community-Focused
Cycling Guide Foundation is a registered charity. The app will never be behind a paywall, never sell your data, never prioritize profit over people. It exists to help communities like ours thrive.
Specifically, your contribution covers:
- Cloud server costs so the app works reliably on your phone
- Regular map updates to keep routes current with Saskatoon’s changing infrastructure
- Bug fixes and improvements based on what local users need
- Ongoing development of new features people actually want
Even better: These funds could unlock matching grants. Many of the grants we apply for require community contributions first. Your support could leverage additional funding that amplifies your impact.
