#BYXEWeek starts Monday!

#BYXEWeek starts Monday!

We are SO excited to be working with the City of Saskatoon on a new, physically-distanced approach to Bike To Work Day this spring. Rather than visiting commuter stations during one morning, we encourage you to get out and explore Saskatoon by bike anywhere, anytime, and all week!

Commit to riding your bike any time during Bike to Work Week May 17-21 and register for a chance to win prizes. Earn extra prize draw entries by posting a photo of your ride on social media with the hashtag #BYXEWeek. We’re doing separate prize draws for children; they should use the hashtag #kidsBYXEWeek. And Saskatoon Public Schools will be setting up decorated bikes at various schools around the city. Kids can collect bonus entries for including one of the decorated bikes in their posts.

Working from home? No problem, you’ll still be eligible to win. Just get out and ride your bike during bike to work week, and follow the same guidelines above. If you live too far from work to bike the entire way, consider taking Saskatoon Transit part of the way. Plan your trip using the Transit app and Google Transit. All buses are equipped with front bike racks that are free and easy to use.

Here’s what ya gotta do:

  1. Get registered! Do that now. Don’t wait til Monday.
  2. Start snapping and posting your best cycling selfies. Adults, use the hashtag #BYXEWeek. Kids, use #kidsBYXEWeek
  3. Limber up for a big week of biking with Yin Yoga for Cyclists on Monday night. We’re broadcasting it on Facebook Live so no pesky links or passwords to worry about. Just roll out your mat a few minutes before 7PM and hop on to our Facebook page.
  4. Grab your popcorn, it’s Movie Night! Tuesday night at 7PM, we’ll be screening Life on Two Wheels, a short video featuring three vignettes of year-round riders living in Saskatoon. You’ll also get to see a slide show with all of the great biking photos you sent us recently. And Trent Watts will make a brief presentation about the new Cathy Watts Memorial Scholarship set up for U of S students. Here’s the whereby link to join
