Reminder: Weekend Bike Activities!

ParticipACTION’s Community Challenge Slow Roll #3
Reminder: every Saturday in June is a Community Challenge Slow Roll day in Saskatoon!
That means tomorrow (Saturday, June 17th) is another chance to get on your bike and help make ours the most active community in Canada. By participating, you can win individual prizes, group prizes, and community prizes by just getting your heart rate up!
There’s also just local pride: at the time of publication, Regina is #1 in SK, and we’re #2. Let’s take back top spot in the province with a few cycling surges!!
If you haven’t already downloaded the ParticipACTION app, you can do it here. (If you aren’t into apps, we can collect your activity minutes from the ride and submit them manually.)
Where: River Landing Fire Vessel (South of the Remai Modern Gallery)
When: 2PM assembly and departure
We’ll do a leisurely ride around the Meewasin and return to River Landing for some treats!
And mark your calendars because we’ll be doing it again, same place, same time on June 24!
Rally for Bike Awareness and Safety: Sunday, June 18
Lucy Stobbe is passionate about safe cycling and respectful road sharing in Saskatoon and decided to do something to make it all more visible. The 17 year old has been speaking to media (Global here and Star Phoenix here) and is about to take to the streets to push for something better.
She’s organized the Rally for Bike Awareness and Safety this Sunday, June 18th, and is calling on all cyclists to come out to be seen and heard.
- Time: 2PM
- Where: starting at City Hall
- What: a ride up College Drive and back, ending at the police station
- We are told there will be a police escort
- Saskatoon Cycles will provide some marshaling support
- Pin a poster to your back and send a message to the city and drivers
Ride for all the reasons you love to cycle. Join with others. Have your say. Have fun!
