Join Saskatoon Cycles on a winter cycling adventure. We will travel from the Market Square at the Farmers’ Market (3:00 pm departure) out to the community centre (the “Log Cabin”) in South Corman Park. The distance traveled by bike will be 15 km. There will be a catered supper provided on Saturday evening and a pancake breakfast on Sunday morning. Entertainment will include live music and story telling. If conditions allow, we may try our hand at quinzee building. If you are adventurous, and have the proper equipment, you can winter camp on the grounds of the community centre . You can also choose to “camp” inside the log cabin (bring your sleeping pad, sleeping bag, and pillow). A support vehicle will transport your overnight gear and will be available to provide assistance in the event of any problems. Adult beverages are your own responsibility and can be transported in the shuttle vehicle. Tickets are $25 each which includes use of the log cabin and two meals (supper/breakfast). Electronic payment can be made by here on the website or you can contact Cathy Watts or Brodie Thompson to arrange for payment in person by cash or cheque (made payable to Saskatoon Cycles).
You will need a bike that is equipped for winter travel. Studded tires and front and rear lights are recommended. You will be travelling with a group of experienced winter cyclists who will work with you to make the trip an enjoyable experience.
Saskatoon Cycles gratefully acknowledges support from the City of Saskatoon Winter City YXE grant.
